Ashlee Simpson is “Thrilled” to Welcome Baby Maxwell

It’s official: Jessica Simpson finally gave birth to a baby girl, Maxwell Drew, and her sister is already sharing her excitement with the world.

“Bronx and I are in love with Maxwell already!” Ashlee, mother of 3-year-old son Bronx, said in an interview with People on Tuesday (May 1). “Jessica has wanted to be a mom since we were little girls and I couldn’t be more excited for her and Eric!”

The 27-year-old singer bought a petite Fendi dress along with a matching garment bag for her niece, which she presented to her fashion-mogul sis at the baby shower.

“Ever since Ashlee had Bronx, we’ve become closer and closer,” Jessica said. “I’m glad that our babies are just going to be three years apart. He records songs on my sister’s iPhone about the things he wants to do with the baby, like swim in the ocean and go to the playground. The first one just made me cry. We’re making a CD of them – it was the best gift of all.”

We’re sure the little tikes will be just as close as the Simpson sisters, showing support for one another like Ashlee did a few weeks ago tweeting, “@nicolerichie @JessicaSimpson #FashionStar Congratulations you sexy women! Proud, proud, proud. Fashion Star, get it!!”

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson Serve as Bridesmaids at Weekend Wedding

Jessica Simpson didn’t let a little thing like pregnancy get in the way of her bridesmaid commitments over the weekend.

Despite the fact that she’s very close to giving birth to her first child, the soon-to-be mom remained part of the wedding party on Sunday when her friend, Lauren Zelman, tied the knot to actor Bret Harrison.

And for Jess, the event, which took place at the Parker Palm Springs, was a bit of a family affair as well. Not only did her sister, Ashlee, also serve as a bridesmaid, but nephew Bronx was the ringbearer.

Meanwhile, fiancé Eric Johnson was on hand to assist his ladylove, who reportedly remained seated during the ceremony. (The pair did get moving later in the weekend to avoid the rain!)

Of course, who can blame her?

“I feel like I have a bowling ball sitting on my hoo-ha!” Simpson told Jimmy Kimmel during an appearance on his show last week. ‘Nuff said.

A CD Dance Party in Ashlee Simpson’s house

When it comes to music, Ashlee Simpson has lost control of the CD player.

Three-year-old son Bronx sets the musical agenda in the house. “All of the music I listen to these days is decided by my son Bronx,” Simpson declares.

“He is my favourite DJ. “He loves such fun music, from Bob Marley to Nicki Minaj to the Jackson 5, so we always have dance parties at our house.”

The 27-year-old younger sister of Jessica Simpson is a working single mum, juggling her busy home life with her career as a singer, actor, fashion designer and all-round Hollywood business woman.

She’s released three albums and is currently working on her fourth and initially launched her career off appearing on popular US family TV series 7th Heaven.More recently she appeared on Melrose Place and is also working on a new clothing line.

But Bronx comes first.

“It (being a mum) is a blast,” she gushes. “Bronx is amazing and inspires me in everything I do. “He is the best part of my life and I am so lucky to be surrounded by such a loving and supportive family.”

Simpson is due in Sydney this week to appear as a special guest at the VIP opening party of The Star’s new Marquee nightspot. When not fulfilling her duties at The Star (walking the red carpet on Friday night), Simpson will be researching local Australian fashion.

“I am coming to Sydney with my best friend, and we’re collaborating on a line together, so I can’t wait to visit all the shops,” she says.

“I have been really lucky to travel to so many wonderful places in the world and Australia is truly one of my favourites.”

While Simpson is more likely to be spotted dancing around her living room than hitting the latest cool clubs these days, she loves to let her hair down and listen to good music. She’s long had an association with Marquee owners, Tao Group (famous for the Lavo, Tao and Marquee brands), having performed at its venues as well as partying there.

“I am flattered to be a part of the opening of something so special,” she says. “Australians know how to have fun and they love life and that is everything Marquee represents.”

So, what makes a good club?

“I really love any spot that just has great music, either live or a DJ,” she says. “I feel like good music sets the whole vibe of any place no matter how big or small.”

Ashlee Simpson: Jessica Is ‘Feeling Good, Looking Great’

Ashlee Simpson stepped out for Kohl’s Rock & Republic runway show in New York City on Friday and Access Hollywood caught up with the actress/singer to get an update on sister Jessica Simpson’s pregnancy progress.

“She’s amazing. She’s doing really great,” the 27–year-old blonde told Access at the show, of her very pregnant sis. “She’s feeling good, looking great — she’s going to be a good mommy!”

While Ashlee is excited to be an aunt, her 3–year-old son, Bronx (with ex-husband Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz), is even more thrilled that he’ll soon have a cousin to play with.

“He is so excited!” the proud mom told Access, when asked if Bronx is ready for his cousin to arrive. “He’s already got all of his little toys ready for the baby.

“He’s like, ‘I want the baby to have this!’” she added. “It’s really cute. Bronx is excited.”

According to the E! show “Fashion Police”, where celebrities like Joan Rivers and Kelly Osbourne plus Giuliana Rancic and stylist George Kotsipoulos share their thoughts about what celebries wore, Ashlee Simpson was the Best Dressed at the 18th SAG Awards!

Joan said that she was stunned that Ashlee had matured into a stylish young woman. “I just want to say congratulations to her stylist and her plastic surgeon.” Kelly Osbourne gushed that Ashlee had become “…a woman. When I saw her on the carpet I couldn’t believe it was her.” Her short bobbed hair style was perfection. Rancic called her elegant and also noted that the hair style was risky and that not everyone could have pulled it off.

Ashlee Simpson & Vincent Piazza Have “Really Intense Morning” Before SAG Awards

Ashlee Simpson‘s boyfriend, Vincent Piazza, certainly had nothing to be bummed about last night—he and his Boardwalk Empire costars picked up the SAG Award (again!) for Ensemble, Drama.

But it’s what the lovebirds did in bed before the big show that has us a bit, well, perplexed.

“We laid in bed and watched a movie,” Simpson told me on the red carpet.

No big deal, except they watched Melancholia! Directed by edgy filmmaker Lars von Trier, the sc-fi drama centers on the strained relationship between two sisters as an unknown planet is on the verge of colliding with the earth.

“It’s an apoplectic story of human depression,” Piazza said. “It was a really intense morning.”

“It certainly was heavy,” Simpson said, adding with a laugh, “I was like, ‘OK, maybe we should watch something happier?’ ”

Ya think?

They actually never finished the flick because Simpson’s glam squad arrived. “She is just a beautiful woman,” Piazza gushed. “We’re so happy. We’ve having a great time with each other.”

Unless they’re watching Melancholia, that is.

Ashlee Simpson: Warmed By Love

Ashlee Simpson couldn’t handle the cold at the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Monday night in Philadelphia between the Rangers and the Flyers. She was at the outdoor event at Citizens Bank Park with her beau, “Boardwalk Empire” actor Vincent Piazza, and spies said he was warming her up throughout the game. “He was hugging her a lot, and would take her inside to an elevator bank during intermission. But she was a trouper,” a witness reports.

Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Officially Divorced

They said it wouldn’t last … and they were right — because Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson are officially divorced … after a judge signed off on the split.

According to court docs filed in L.A. County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ … the marriage was formally terminated on November 22 … after a 3-and-a-half year run.

As for the couple’s kid — Bronx Mowgli — it’s unclear how the couple settled their custody disagreement … because the details of the divorce settlement are being kept under wraps. TMZ previously reported, Pete wanted joint custody of their son … but Ashlee had checked the box to get primary physical custody.

The former couple also worked out a secret deal regarding the division of their multi-million dollar empire.

As we previously reported, Wentz chalked up the split to the couple simply growing apart.

Updated: New Music on Spring 2012!

Well, the story goes like this: Rich Baxter is a die-hard Ashlee Simpson fan and he got the chance to attend the launch of the “Jessica Simpson Girls” Collection on December 03, 2011 in Toronto, Canada where he was able to talk a little bit with the Simpson siters. He asked Ashlee about new music, and she told him that we are going to be hearing new Ashlee Simpson tunes on Spring 2012! That’s just arround the corner! Can’t wait to hear new music!

UPDATE: Rich has just sent us and e-mail with all the info Ashlee told him! Read it below:

The album is coming out in the spring and she’ll have something for us by March. It has grown a lot from what she previous was talking about. No more folk or anything like that…she described it as a british vibe dancey feel good but not all the way dancey she said it is NOT like Bittersweet World, she said that I will really like it. Jessica said its really good, she heard it and Ashlee has already played it for her publicist.

I asked how much was done and she just kept saying she keeps writing and recording. Shes going to the studio this week to record with “The Stereotyoes” (I’m not sure who they are) and she has been working with JOHN! She seemed very confident in the material and kept reassuring me that i will really like it. I asked if it was like Florence and The Machine like she previous told me she said no not at all and its nothing like her old stuff.

Looks like were getting a whole new thing! She seemed very happy about the project and as happy to share with me. She def said spring so im assuming single in march but this is just me guessing.
